







The Blind-asean ON-NET Discussion List
The list is called "Blind-asean discussion list" and focuses on the issues related to computer access technology for blind and low vision persons in Southeast Asia region. The purpose of the list is to provide visually impaired individuals and organizations serving the blind in Southeast Asia region the opportunity to exchange information regarding computer access technology via the Internet. Topics may include screen reader, screen magnification software, Braille translation, tactile graphics production, digital audio production, Braille printer, Braille displays, Braille note takers, reading scanning systems, CCTVs, etc. We also pay close attention to the development of these technologies regarding access in local languages. members are welcomed to talk about basic aids/appliances and useful information resources for persons with visual impairment as well. Even though many of the list members are from Southeast Asia region, we encourage other interested persons from other region of the world whether blind or sighted to join the list and share useful information in the area of technology for blind and low vision persons.

The Technicians ON-NET discussion list
The purpose of ON-NET technicians discussion list is to provide technicians of equipment for the blind and visually impaired in Southeast Asia region the opportunity to exchange information regarding equipment maintenance and repair issues via the Internet. Topics may include maintenance and repair of Braille embossers, manual Braillewriters, refreshable Braille displays, Braille note takers, CCTV's, basic aids/appliances, etc. Discussion about computer hardware and related peripherals are welcomed.
Even though many of the list members are from Southeast Asia region, we encourage other interested persons from other region of the world whether blind or sighted to join the list and share useful information in this area.
This list is operating in conjunction with ON-NET web site. ON-NET stands for Overbrook Nippon Network on Educational Technology. It is a technology-based project focusing in Southeast Asia region. ON-NET is funded by the Nippon Foundation in Japan and is administered by Overbrook School for the Blind in United States.
